Sonja Pilkington

Sonja is a qualified Chartered Accountant, and spent a large part of her career in the auditing profession with large international audit firms, before moving into a role with Capricorn Society Inc as a Risk and Compliance Manager. Capricorn Society is a not for profit member organisation in the automotive industry with its head office in Perth. Sonja has also worked in commercial accounting roles for the Independent Newspaper Group (South Africa), and a pharmaceutical company prior to that.

Currently, Sonja has a diverse range of clients for whom she performs bookkeeping and accounting work, ranging from small “one-man bands” and franchise organisations to medium sized retail companies.

A registered BAS agent, Sonja is currently working in association with a registered tax agent, with a view to obtaining registration as a tax agent in her own right. Currently completing tax returns for a large number of individuals, Sonja has a completed the company returns of some of her existing clients as well.

Sonja anticipates that this will become a large portion of the business function, and hopes to grow the division over the coming years.

Dubbed the “Cash flow Queen”, Sonja enjoys the challenge of setting up business plans and budgets, investigating various scenarios to produce a detailed business blueprint, against which the business may monitor its results.

Sonja prides herself on her attention to detail and exploring various options to ensure the client gets the best possible solution through the application of appropriate systems and procedures integral to the performance of the client’s business.
