Our History

Asset Financial Accounting began life as Pilkington Enterprises Pty Ltd, registered in November 2009 by Mike Pilkington and trading as the corporate trustee of the Pilkington Enterprises Trust. Originally a Jim’s Bookkeeping franchise, the business has grown substantially over the past six years, largely due to word of mouth referral and our growing reputation as “more than just bookkeepers” and the quality and speed of work provided to our clients.

The business was so successful that Sonja Pilkington joined the business in April 2011, followed by the first staff member in 2012.

In January 2013, the decision was made to exit the Jim’s franchise system and rebrand as Asset Financial Accounting, a move necessitated by the need to create a professional image which more accurately reflected the nature of the business as a professional practice offering a higher level of financial services and support than bookkeeping per se.

Continued growth demanded expansion into commercial premises, and in 2014 the business acquired a suite of offices in Wangara, where clients are met in a professional environment which also offers the facility to manage training sessions or client meetings in the board room.

Our current services include bookkeeping, financial accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and taxation returns, working closely with tax accountants to ensure our clients receive the highest quality service possible. We are able to assist clients with an assessment of their current processes, and where appropriate make suggestions for improvement, including the transition from one accounting software package to another.

More recently, in line with a commitment to innovation and continuously improving client services, we offer our clients two complimentary services: a survey of customer buying preferences for their industry, and a snap-shot review of their marketing effectiveness. These two services represent our strong desire to go beyond documenting, reporting and advising, and actively seek to contribute to the success of our clients’ businesses.
